her Racing

her Active Lifestyle Beverage entered the racing world for 2009′s Indy 500 with a primary sponsorship of Alex Lloyd in the #99 Chip Gannassi Racing/Sam Schmidt Motorsports IndyCar. After a historic last minute qualifying run on Pole Day #1, Alex’s popularity grew and thanks to his talent and a bright pink livery and firesuit, “Pink Lloyd” soon became the talk of the track.
her was turning heads off the track too. On the Friday of race weekend – Alex held an autograph session in the lobby of the wonderful Hilton Indianapolis. Celebrities and fans gathered for her mixers and photo ops. Later that night, her joined forces with BMG to benefit the Susan G. Komen Indy Affiliate with an event at Mavris Arts Center in downtown. Six hundred guests enjoyed drinks, dancing and music to kick off the greatest spectacle in sports.
Race day arrived and the pink car was easily more visible than the other 32 cars on the track. Celebrity guests and associates packed the her suite to witness the most viewed sporting event in the world. Pink Lloyd started 11th but had a technical issue in the early laps, and soon found himself in the back of the pack. He fought his way back to 13th and finished on the lead lap.
Later that season her again teamed up with Alex Lloyd, but this time with the legendary Newman Haas Lanigan Racing team for the October season finale in Homestead, Florida. Alex tested at the Homestead track, and the car was painted an attractive white and pink, dubbed the no carb/no sugar car.
The night before the race, the her IndyCar into valet at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Miami on Brickell Key. The swaying palms and glistening waters along the bayfront property provided the backdrop for the event – which included the premiere of a breast cancer awareness PSA “The Booby Scare” presented by her. Thanks to the Mandarin Oriental Miami, Krome Vodka and the University of Miami Hurricanes Cheerleaders – the event was a success and set the stage for an exciting race.
Again the race was another way to raise awareness for an important charity. The NHLR #06 car received a one-time exemption from the league and was renumbered #40202 in connection with Stand Up To Cancer’s text to donate program. Anyone that texted the word “stand” to 40202 would automatically donate $10.00 to the cancer research charity. The her car became the highest official car number entry in motorsports history. All for a great cause!
Impressive, as Pink Lloyd hadn’t raced in five months, Alex Lloyd bested most of the field in qualifying – landing the fifth spot. When the green flag dropped, we all hoped today would be the day.

After a race with no cautions, and some trouble in the pit… Alex came in an incredibly respectable eight place, leaving a field of full time drivers in his part-time dust.
